“Sex education” is being referred to as “sexuality education” which can
include teaching sexual orientation and controversial forms of
sexual expression.
Sex is an act; sexuality
encompasses more than just the physical joining. Both terms were introduced
into the language by Alfred Kinsey (call me if you don’t know about him). Sex
education implies that kids will be given an instruction manual. Sexuality education
can teach sexual orientation, contraception methods, puberty, and so much
more. For most people though, sexuality is a positive word that encompasses
love, relationships and intimacy. Many parents do not want their children to
receive sex education, but are hoodwinked into supporting “sexuality
training” that teaches that expression of sexuality is okay. We can not use
“sexuality” until people understand the negative images, lessons and
lifestyles that sexuality education teaches.
