Training Thank you for your interest in Teen-Aid. We look forward to providing teacher training for the teachers in your school district. This training will provide your teachers with the philosophy of abstinence, the research basis of the curriculum and familiarity with program materials. Decisions regarding videos, placement, and evaluation, will be left with the school itself.
ConfirmationPlease verify and return both the enclosed confirmation form and the information sheet on or before the indicated date. (See confirmation form) Let us know if changes take place. In addition, we require a $500 deposit, $75 of which is non-refundable. The deposit will be applied toward your training expenses and will be credited to your account upon completion of the teacher training. The cost of the actual training is $850 per day; allow two days per curricula. We cannot make travel arrangements until the signed confirmation form is received. The sooner arrangements are made for airline tickets, the better price you will get. (At least 4 weeks in advance is necessary). The cost of the ticket will then be billed to the school district by our travel agent.
Training materials and expensesPrior to the training, curriculum sets and teacher training packets will be sent and invoiced for each teacher in attendance, $11.50 per packet, as well as display copies that may be previewed by the district. In order to prevent unneeded copies from being sent, the district should notify us if they have already purchased sets for the teachers. These items are invoiced to your school district and will be credited to you if you decide to return them; a separate purchase order will need to be sent for any materials you keep. Note: Used teacher training packets are non-refundable. In addition, shipping and handling for all materials, kept or returned, is the school’s responsibility. The school is also responsible for shipping cost for the trainer’s personal materials to the training site. A per diem of $25.00 per day plus travel expenses, which include car rental, gas, cab or shuttle fare, will be invoiced to the school district. The arrangements and direct payment for lodging are the school’s responsibility. First floor accommodations or the use of an elevator is important. Include directions 1) from the airport to the hotel and 2) from the hotel to the training site. (Please use street names instead of "turn at the third light". This can be very confusing for someone who doesn't know your area!)
Additional MeetingsIf your district would like the trainer to conduct any other meetings during the stay, please advise the staff regarding the nature of the meeting. We encourage a parent/community information night. We want the parents to be familiar with the curriculum that their children will be a part of. This also provides a good opportunity to answer any concerns that they might have.
Depending on your implementation, the trainer will do radio or TV interviews. Generally, the teachers are more comfortable if the media opportunities are not during the training session. Reporters will not be allowed to attend training sessions.
Enclosed is a checklist and the necessary information for setting up a successful training event. I’m looking forward to working with you. Please let me know if you have any questions.
